Impersonator, singer, actress and TV host, Veronic DiCaire’s journey is marked with versatility and perseverance. Well known to recreate, with outstanding accuracy, the greatest voices of Canada, USA and Europe, the impersonator’s wide repertoire impresses everywhere she goes. Born in Embrun, a small community in eastern Ontario, Canada, the singer-dancer-host-impersonator has had an incredible journey.
Her first folk-rock album, released by Warner Music Canada, earned her two nominations at the ADISQ awards in 2002 and five Trille d’Or trophies at the Franco-Ontarian music industry award ceremony in 2003.
She started her career in musicals when she had the chance to play in the French version of GREASE as Sandy, the leading role. After being acclaimed by the critics for her performance, she then moved on to play in the French version of the Broadway production CHICAGO, once again as the leading role of Roxie Hart. Veronic is a versatile artist, later that same year, she was selected to demonstrate her talent by being the voice of Renée Zellwiger’s (Roxie Hart) for that same role in the French version of the Hollywood production, CHICAGO.
In the spring of 2005-2006 she released her second album and went on tour, while also performing in galas, hosting her first TV show, appearing on TV series and in theatres. It’s in 2007 that Veronic started revealing her talent for impersonations in events such as the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and Grand Rire Festival in Québec city.
In 2008, Celine Dion and Rene Angelil discovered her exceptional talent. Veronic was requested to perform the opening act of Celine Dion’s Taking Chances tour for the shows at the Montreal Bell Center and in Quebec City. In one night, her life changed! With this huge success, she performed sold-out shows everywhere in the province of Quebec and travelled with her multiple voices on a European tour. The people in France first met her as a judge on the TV show, X Factor, however, they soon discovered the impressive talent of this artist who can impersonate the French legend, Edith Piaf, perfectly, as well as many other artists.
In June 2013, Veronic performed a brand-new show – Voices – at the Bally’s Hotel & Casino’s Jubilee Theatre in Las Vegas. She delivered 50 of the biggest American and international voices. She was chosen Best Singer for the 2014 Best of Las Vegas Awards, and voted winner in the category of “Best Impressionist successor to Danny Gans” in Vegas SEVEN’s Best of the City 2014. The Voices show was co-produced by Céline Dion and was presented 145 times up until 2015.
After her Las Vegas residency, Veronic and her team prepared a brand-new show for Quebec audiences – La Voix des autres – and they also adapted the Las Vegas Voices show for the French European crowds (France, Belgium & Switzerland). The success of her new show in Europe led her to become a candidate on France’s Dancing With The Stars – France.
Veronic leads several projects at the same time, whether on a worldwide tour or on television. In 2017 & 2018, she hosted for 2 seasons the variety show “Ici on Chante” on CBC. Véronic performed as the first-act of Celine Dion on her European tour (summer 2017) and Asian tour (summer 2018). Veronic has performed in more than twenty countries, from France to Australia, to England and Lebanon.
In the fall of 2018, a new show – Veronic DiCaire en Spectacle – was created for French-speaking Canadians. This incredible show was awarded the Show of the Year -Performer at the 2020 Adisq gala. In order to allow each of its audiences to identify themselves through all her imitations, Veronic also created a new show – Showgirl Tour – in 2019 for her European audience.
Veronic impresses everytime! Her versatility and her vocal skills, but above all, her ease to make the public travel with her, from one interpreter to another, from one era to another, in an impressive production will seduce, for sure, all her audiences.
As of today, Veronic is touring in Quebec until 2021 while the European tour will continue thought out 2022.
